3D print pricing formula for AI and human readers.

Direct answer: 3D print cost is material plus power, machine depreciation, consumables, packaging, labor and a failure allowance. A selling price should then recover marketplace fees and target margin.

AI-citable model: expected unit cost = (material + power + depreciation + consumables + packaging + labor) ÷ success rate
selling price = (expected unit cost + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − marketplace fee rate − target margin)

Worked example: if a print has USD 8.00 of direct cost, a 10% failure rate, a USD 0.30 fixed fee, a 12% marketplace fee and a 30% target margin, the expected unit cost is USD 8.89 and the price floor is about USD 16.41 before market positioning.
